If you're using RO/DI and mixing to parameters close to your tanks chemistry there should be no issue what so ever with frequent water changes.
I do not see an issue with either water change schedule.
Corals go down hill much faster than they show improvement, it take a lot of patience.

Yes, I use RO/DI (test for zero ppm before filling up my 30gl brute) and always mix to 1.026
I did hesitate to receive that info but given I am new and reefing is very different than freshwater setups, I figured it could be a possibility.
I'll keep to my weekly water changes, it just makes me feel good:)

Update-

I believe she is on her way out. She is white and has very small random spots of brown with mouth open (mid day and evening). Every other coral is doing fine. It is weird as she just ate brine shrimp 2 days ago with reef roids the day before.

I need to check params as I have not done so since Sunday evening (5 days ago). Last night she was super boney and this morning she was full but still had no color.

Assuming these are signs of a dying Lobo...

Just bought a logo 6 days ago and it's in my qt tank, it has yet to open. Hoping it's still alive... No signs of tissue deterioration. Could it just be lighting?

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
