I have a paly issue. They have started to take over and I need to do something . I have been reading a lot about how to remove and it concerns me with the palyotoxins. I am looking for advice on the best way to remove a very large colony of palys. Is it as simple as wearing gloves and pulling them or do I need to do more?

Go slow and just remove a few at a time. Use gloves and just kill 3 or 4 at a time. If you can remove the rock they are on even better. Wash your hands after really well. Good luck and again don't over do it.

Use long gloves (there are some good reef ones on Amazon), very sharp stainless curve tip scissors, and run some activated carbon, remove the cut polyps with gloves or tweezers super glue to frag plug and sell to the LFS for store credit or to a friend. You can use kalk like you would on aptasia. I like the first option though.
