My Polyp lab lens came in last and all I can say is awesome. I was only able to take a top shot before going to work. I was using the 15k lens

Sps pics with polyp lab clip 14k lens under AB+ lighting. I'm so glad my strawberry shortcake is finally showing colors. On the other hand, ora pearlberry seems to be loosing it's colors. Pearlberry was purchased from Mr. V

Tank sure is taking off. Any idea how soon it'll be before you'll need to start dosing?
Alk and cal are stabling around 9.5-10 alk and 440-450 cal with weekly to biweekly water changes which I like. Letting my second clam adjust and if the clam will lower alk and cal some more. At one point I was dosing ESV 2.5ml for both alk and cal every three days. My alk rose to 12 and cal to 480 so I backed off. Thank for the reply.

Really nice tank, I love what you did with your aquascape. I am definitely taking some notes for my tank. I am curious though, did you find the return pump extremely loud and eventually upgrade it like you said? If so how did that go, is it noticeably better? Finally do you like your powerhead, does it work well for the tank?

Original return was OK no noise but not enough flow. When i switched to the Sicce 1.5, the flow was considerably more notable.

So it's been a while since the last time I've update (working too much). Nothing really new. Bought a possible tricolor acro. Will post pics when I get a confirmation. Porcelain crab passed away either of old age or bad molto. Anemone finally staying put. Did have some bubble algae from low mag.

Love your tank! Awesome corals etc and fish selection! I'm jealous.
I've got a firefish and purple firefish in my nano also. I keep reading here (fish section) that you cant have 2 firefish, eventually one will die from stress of being bullied. Obviously we are proving that theory wrong. :)

Thanks for the reply. Actually, both my firefishes are like brother and sister to each other with their pet dog (pistol shrimp).

Time for a way overdue update. Fish deaths x2 due to carpet surfing. Both were gobies. Coral death 0 knock on wood. Reefing really helped with my patience. Little at a time goes a long way. Unfortunately, all three clams x2 maxima and x1 deresa all perished. I believe it was my bumblebee snails that could be the culprit. They were on the clams prior clams dying. weird thing is that the rest of my snails and hermits were interested on the clams both alive and dead. I somewhat regret getting my pistol shrimp now. Every night when I get home, I always hear it popping away. It's making me nervous that it might end up breaking the glass. On to more good news. Torch now has three heads with hammer having two. Galaxea bloomed and is showing slight gold/yellow on its polyp. Across are growing and just recently purchased an Oregon tort and jf foxflame. My newly added blasto is adjusting accordingly but not my scan. My acan is deflated at all times. Tried to place in a shadier area with no help. Of course I will have pics. Enjoy.

Tank looks good. If the critters were already interested in them then they likely were already going downhill. There are a couple types of snails that actively kill clams, but typically if your whole CUC is interested then the clam probably had issues.

As for your pistol, you've got nothing to worry about. The only way it will break the glass is by knocking a rock down.

Thanks for the reply. Your comment gave a me a peace of mind regarding my pistol. He still is hammering away every night. I should be expecting an upside down infrastructure underneath that rock he has claimed. Snail wise I only have trochus and nassrius in the tank and have been told and researched to be ok with clams. After further researching bumblebees, I found some threads were it did kill the snail. Lesson learned. Won't be attempting clams until I get my upgrade. Thanks again.

Pics wise, I'm currently using a Note 9 with polyp lab lens. I can get really clear shots if what I'm focusing on is close to the front. Pics of the back tank seems to get more blurry the further it is from the front. Is there a trick I'm missing here? Thanks in advance

How have you liked the tuxedo urchin? I've read they are great at mowing down algae but may also eat coralline and rearrange your whole tank.
No complaints with the urchin. I just make sure I don't have any loose drags. They eat coraline which keeps the back glass clean for me. My pistol shrimp is primarily the one that remodels the tank.
