ok so a thread ive been taking pat in has me interested in doing a pico vase reef tank. whats even better... ive already got everything I need for it with the exception of a light.

thinking a par38 would work but not sure. it will be a "sealed" vase so the light needs to be powerful enough to go through the glass lid and the sides, but not so strong as to burn the coral just on the other side.

looking at a 1.5 gallon vase. would this par38 work? other suggestions?

or I could build my own wout of a few t10 corn cob bulbs... but that will probably be overkill.

Hard to say. I bought one from a guy on ebay that was in texas.. he still has them on ebay for 60 bucks. I got great coral growth on a 5 gallon.
