So here is what I know with my hanna checker mu cal is 456 and my alk is 8.0
My tank is montipora and some acropora. My question is is cal to high and alk to low. Ultra low phosphorus kit keeps blinking 20 , I've had problems with phosphorus but no I'll signs of anything. Seems like things are not growing hellllp

As long as alk and cal are stable at those levels its spot on. I shoot for 8-9 dkh and 410-420 ppm cal, stable within that range is good for me.

But I wonder why they dont ppl like they use to

Keeping alkalinity and calcium correct is easy, the real balance is nutrients you need some phosphate and nitrates but low if you have alge growth then you have enough. To drive them to zero is death for sps corals.

Yes but phosphate needs to be lower nitrates is fine

Is it blinking 20 or blinking 200?

Hmmm
I’ve only ever seen my ulp blink either 200 or 0
I wonder why it’s blinking

I’m not sure, but I thought the blinking was an alert. Blinking 200 meant too high and blinking 0 meant undetectable. I would contact Hanna.
