I have a problem with my nitrates and ammonia. For some reason they dont want to go down, no matter how many water changes I do they stay at the same.
Ammonia:0.25
Nitrite:5
Nitrate:25
Salinity:1.025
PH:8
Temp:78-79
A buddy of mine recommended prime from Seachem.
I have two clownfish and one coral

Are you using api test kits?

They are known for false .25 ammonia readings.

Nitrates are fine ;)

How old is your tank?
I am using API for ammonia and salifert for nitrate. I tested the saltwater from the lfs and it showed as 0, same goes for the nitrate test. My tank is 2 months old

Your nitrates are maybe a bit high for corals but no problem for fish.
Most test kits cannot measure ammonia under .25ppm accurately.
If ammonia was too high, both clowns would be either dead or acting real strangely, like gasping at the surface.
Their mouth movement moves is at a normal pace and they usually like hang out in the top right corner of my tank.

Like @Uncle99 Said the fish would show signs of ammonia. Heavy breathing and labored swimming.

False reading of ammonia.

Nitrates are fine ;)

I never seen an API ammonia test ever show lower than .25.
That’s all it can do.
As your system ages, nitrates will go down, or do a water change, or consider carbon dosing.
All seems well as this early stage.
