Sorry to hear, unfortunately loosing fish we had for long time is part if the hobby.
My hippo tang has been with me for 8 years, grown huge, yet didnt have the heart to take it out. Over the last 2 weeks large colonies pf zoos has been eating and a new set of frags that i placed on a frag rack has been flying non stop arpund the tank. Found ones on rather large plugs on the rocks on the other side of the tank (7 ft) also found a couple in the anemones island... Imtend to think its him as most other fish wouldnt be able to carry those frags. Im just hoping i dont see it doing it as then ill have to come to the decision of taking it out

I lost my Hippo after two years and I was devastated. It was equally difficult for me to sell my large purple tang, yellow tang, and desjardini sailfin tangs of 5 years (to replace with smaller specimens) and add at the same time as other tangs I wished to add. That story line was not going to fly with my existing tangs, set in their ways. Anyway, yes I agree completely. I had a melanarus wrasse for 6 years that I sold recently as well. Not as difficult for me, not sure why.
