Is it normal for acropora to all have no PE in my tank apart from montis and tenuis?, the others like merlin's staff and pc rainbow all dont have any PE, used to have PE at night but i noticed it stopped extending even at night, they all used to extend when i first got them and even during lights on

It's not... uncommon, exactly, but in my tanks the loss of polyp extension has always been a precursor to a larger problem. My understanding is that's not universal - there are some tanks that have limited PE during the day, but even then you'll still usually see PE at night. And a lot of it is dependent on the exact coral.

But in my experience, whenever I notice polyp extension going away both during the day and at night, I almost always start seeing problems with that acro.

Ive had acros that show nothing during the day but the polyps come out at night
