well it takes some time for them to get use to you and they don't like people moving fast around the tank all day. Once they get use to you they will greet you like a fish and will come to the top just for food. Id say give him some time and try to feed him a variety to see what he likes

Okay. I've tried raw shrimp, raw scallops but he just takes it and spits it out. I've added some snails and he loves them but that's expensive. Help. I'm at wits end!!
Try Krill. My Mantis got picky for a while, but he loved his krill. The I reintroduced other food to him. It worked
