A LFS keeper near me offered me two pieces of pectinia for a price that I could not refuse. They are a bit beat up after an anemone traveled over them. They are acclimating into my tank now. They have been going steady at the LFS's display thank for a few months after the incident, he says he just decided to do a SPS dominated tank instead. I was just wondering what the best way was to bring them all the way back to full health.

I will upload better pictures when they are set up in my tank for light acclimation.

They feed by using their mucous membrane. They are very slow eaters. They seem to like to eat early before lights on or after lights out with pumps off. They'll eat almost anything you'd normally feed. Phyto and other "small" foods are a good idea. Medium flow and medium light.
What color(s) are yours?

he gave me a rainbow (the one in the pic) and an "acid rain" plating pectinia. How often do you feed? Right now I target feed roids every three days, my lepto feeds with mucus so I know what you mean. I will start turning my pumps off each time I feed.

Ooo! I like it a lot. They are so unusual looking, so wild. Beautiful corals. ;)

Should I trim off the exposed skeleton? Or just feed it often and monitor it? I have to agree on the colors, the wife is doing research on lighting because right now its under a stock biocube light.

How often do you feed your pectinia? Should I trim back the skeleton?
