So after a year and a half with my current setup, it was time for an upgrade. I currently have a Marineland 55 gallon with very poor dimensions. This was a gift given to me, so I took advantage of it before buying a better tank. I have always wanted a rimless tank, and with all the BF deals I couldn't help myself not to buy a NUVO EXT 75. I was looking at similar tanks such as the Waterbox and Red Sea, but ultimately the NUVO was better for me and my pocket. The tank has been ordered and waiting for it to ship. I have ordered the items I will need for the plumbing. This is going to be my first time plumbing, so I may need help. I should also mention than I am about to be 21 years young so yeah I have no experience plumbing whatsoever. Okay now moving on to the equipment I will be using for this build. Keep in mind this is the equipment I am currently using and will adjust as needed.

  • Tank: NUVO EXT 75 with its included stand
  • Return Pump: Jebao DCP-4000
  • Heater: X2 Eheim Jagger
  • Wavemakers: X2 Nero 5
  • Skimmer: Reef Octopus Classic INT-110
  • Lights: X2 ATI 4 bulb Sunpower
  • Control: 2016 Model Apex W/ X2 EB832
  • Salt: Fritz blue box
  • Sump: Homemade sump from a 20 Gal long
  • Doser: X1 Apex Dos
  • ATO: Hydrofill Controller
  • ATO Reservoir: 15 IM Hydrofill
  • Rocks: Around 50 pounds from LFS
  • Sand: X1 Caribsea Aragonite Special
As said above, I will buy any other necessary equipment as needed.

This will be an LPS dominated tank with some SPS. All my current livestock will be moved to the new tank once I get it going.

My current fish stock:
  • 3 Clowns
  • 1 Yellow Tang
  • 1 Royal Gamma
  • 1 diamond Goby
  • 2 wrasse
  • 1 purple firefish

I will be updating regularly as my new equipment comes in. Thanks for reading my post and welcome to my new adventure!! :)

That's exciting that your getting the EXT 75. I was going to order the EXT 75, but the 5 inches I would need behind the tank would have pushed it too far forward and it would stick out past my TV stand. So I ended ordering the INT 75. It should be getting here soon.

I thought about getting the INT but the overflow took up too much space for my liking. Where did you order yours from if you don’t mind sharing?

Got the stand mostly built. Took me longer than expected as some pieces didn’t want to budge:rolleyes: Anyways will wait to finish installing the last door and the shelf after I make the sump transfer. Bottom piece didn’t have enough support so I will use a piece of styrofoam shown on both sides to prevent the bottom board from bowing on me. Also used 3 smaller pieces for extra support on the top as the instructions only called for one but the box came with 2 extra so why not use them. Waiting for extra hands to help me bring the tank in that way I can start figuring out all the plumbing.

A lot of work ahead....

So upon further inspection, I found a defect with the glass. There is a spot on the front panel where the glass is abnormal therefore resulting in distortion. Emailed IM to see what can be done. It is right in the middle of the front panel which is very annoying. I wouldn't have cared if this had happened elsewhere.

Getting some plumbing done today. Can’t go on as I am missing a tee and an elbow which should come in tomorrow. Also picked up this little guy to keep an eye on the tank while away.

Just came across this and just in time to follow along it seems. Looks exciting.

Nice job plumbing. They send a replacement tank due to glass issue? Keep those pics coming
