Aussie Reefer here, been shopping around for a 6 foot peninsula style tank setup to act as a room divider
Had a look at the Cade/Waterbox options but always wished their cabinet stands would be a touch bigger and wider for more room to work around.
So decided to DIY the cabinet using mix of 8080 and 8040 aluminium profiles. Stone slab for some appeal.
Cabinet 2310mm L x 810mm W x 1120mm H (sized this bigger then the tank so there's a ledge to put stuff on)
Tank size on order 1800mm x 700mm x 600mm.
Whole thing is on 8 heavy duty castors with load capacity of ~750kg each. figured this will be plenty.
Not that I want to move this around once it's set in place..But figured if the need arises, I can.
Sides and back panels in progress, done in marine ply, in the process prepping for paint.
Panels are all attached to stand via magnets, so each individual panel can be removed for easy access.
Doors will be all windowed, not sure whether to use glass or acrylic.....to be decided.
Plumbing next.....still deciding on whether to get a custom sump or use existing.....Hmali would be nice :)
