Sovi just picked up a cleaner shrimp and so far he/she molted the first night and i hear of they do that they are vulnerable but he/she seems to be doing great! I was just wondering if you guys have any tips in caring for these guys. I feed my clowns formula one pellets and when i dovi drop one by him and he/she devours it. Should i be feeding everyday? What can I give it as a treat??

It may have just been time for it to molt. Mine molted often before he died of old age, its sort of a scary thing but totally normal. I feed my shrimps the same stuff as the fish, flakes and LRS reef frenzy. I always try to make sure that stuff sinks so the shrimp can get to it but that isn't a hard rule since they will usually go up to the top of the water and swim upside down while grabbing food with their claws and such. It will figure out what's going on soon enough and start begging like the fish do for food haha

I have a peppermint shrimp in one of my tanks. He only gets pellets and flakes. Only seen his molted shell a few times now. In my 55g i have 2 skunk cleaner shrimp and they get LRS Reef Frenzy and flakes. They molt all the time. Like all the time its gross lol.
Molting means its growing i believe, they are vurnurable to being eaten i think. Their new "shell" isnt as tough when it first molts.

I believe molting occurs as they are introduced to new water parameters. Should be completely fine!

My cleaner is an aggressive eater. I give him whatever I'm feeding my fish. He seems to love flake but tears up brine shrimp or anything else

Shrimp are just like insects....they have a hard outside skeleton so as they grow, they put a new soft exoskeleton just below the old and then shed the old....he is just getting bigger and is happy. Good news when a shrimp molts!
