My luck will acclimating peppermint shrimp is very bad I don’t know if it is because they are so sensitive or I just am doing something wrong. My store gave me them in 25 ppt salinity while mine is 35 so I dripped acclimated but then they seem to fall on their side and die I don’t know what their weakness is or they are just super fragile?

Salinity is way to high. I suggest keeping you salinity at 1.024-1.027 ppt. Do you have livestock in the tank other than the peppermint? If you don't, do a water change and put barely any salt in to level the salinity. Peppermint shrimp is likely going to die, but it might survive. Do gradual water changes with low salinity to stabilize it and slowly decrease the salinity.

EDIT: Please ignore this post I made a mistake

Isn't 35ppt 1.026?

Are you adding salt water when your tank has evaporation ? Use Rodi only . You have a LOT of work to do . ITs the first time that I agree on dramatic water changes be done. Don't forget when you do a water change of say 30 percent the salinity by percentage will still be hugely high

His salinity is 35ppt, that's the same as 1.026 specific gravity. He is perfectly fine as he is.

Peppermint shrimp come from the ocean. Ocean salinity is 35 ppt. Anyone telling you they will die at that PPT is wrong.

I don't know, but it's not the salinity. Could be many things. Disease, stress from transport and acclimation, who knows. But he does not need to lower his salinity.
Not arguing I mis read never hear it expressed that way .

Did you test the LFS salinity, or they told you it is 25 ppt? Its very odd to me to keep inverts at that low salinity, I've never come across this before. Inverts are very sensative and the LFS's I use always keep the inverts at correct salinity.

Yeah I am so sorry I had a massive brain fart forgive me. Yes I got my measurements wrong

Yeah I use rodi for top off. Yeah in my brain I read it as 1.035 instead of 35ppt. I don’t know why. I just completely messed up. Sorry guys

You miss read he said 35

Has the display tank ever had copper run in it?
*Edit, seems it's been figured out :)

Unless OP changed the Salinity, this is completely bad and wrong information. Reef salinity is 35 ppt.
