I'd be more inclined to cut-down the 75. and do the trough. keep the stand standard... hah

I’m thinking about just using the 30 potentially. I’d rather have the 75 though so we’ll see.

Should have gone 8ft... my 75 fits with a 20H ATO next to it and enough room for dosing shelves and co troller cabinet (last 2 things not quite done yet) ;)
Good point. I have plans to add an ATO and I’ll need dosing shelves so maybe I’ll do the 8’ length.

Lol I meant with the tank but I think you could make a really nice stand that over lays by a foot on each side.

I need to get the app you’re using to model the stand. Thank you for doing that.

Probably cost prohibitive but this is really cool:

loop boosted for more head pressure... also you could separate the pipes for more options down the line and hook up one to each side of this pump. Probably better on the bearings too.
Cool innovation!

I’m in the process of deciding what fish I want for my new system. I’d give my eye teeth to be able to have a large shoal of red spot cardinal fish. I know I want fish that like to shoal, and a school of red spots would be my first choice. Stoplight cardinal fish would be my second as of now. The only negative I’ve found so far is their small size in relation to the hippo tang. A school of twenty or thirty of either would be stunning, especially with a few larger fish.

I’ve also thought about either a snowflake or zebra moray. Of course if I went that route I obviously wouldn’t be able to keep small fish at all.

As for tangs I might add a desjardini tang. Convict tangs are cool too. I’d like to add at least one yellow to the mix as well.

Considering I also want wrasses and anthias among others I have to keep researching. Even a 210 can only hold so much.

I’ve also been researching pumps for the closed loop. Although I have not decided on what pump I want yet here is the front runner.

Amazon product

If I go with this pump I’ll buy two initially then get a third just in case I need to replace a pump. It would also allow me to swap out a clean pump for one that needs to be cleaned with little downtime in between.

Whelp let’s just say it’s Christmas in July.

I’m going to start work on the stand this evening. I got part of the plumbing taken care of too but I have plenty left to buy.

Please. I appreciate it. I try to keep my plans in my head but that doesn’t always work out the way I want.

I decided to just make the stand 35 inches tall so I could avoid building to the side especially since I’ll have plenty of room for an ATO reservoir underneath.

I need to figure out how to run the simulations to see how much weight the stand could carry.
I bet if you got select (without knots) for the long wood you could go without the middle brace but I'm not going to recommend that till I can run the dynamics in fusion360 (which I don't know how-to do).
