I am considering adding the 6040 to my 14 gallon nano, but one concern of mine is whether the unit retains its settings during a power outage? My fear is that it may reset into a much more powerful state after an outage, and in a small tank this could spell disaster. I realize the nobs clearly set a mechanically based setting, but if the mode changes I could see potentially other issues occurring. Any thoughts to alleviate my fears? :). Or is this simply too much flow power for such a small nano?

Also has Tunze or anyone else you are aware of come up with some form of intake protection to keep anemones and gobies safely out of harm's way?

Yes, everything is analog so it would be pretty hard to lose settings.
