Petco Issue!

Not sure where to put this. Anyway, I am on auto delivery of Red Sea blue bucket salt. This is the fourth time now and every time the bucket is broken. Before, they used to put it in cardboard and never broke. Now it's very disappointing all the time.

They sent me a new bucket and same thing this one is even worse it actually split the bag inside. I am not sure if i should call them again.

Broken handle or broken (leaking) bucket?

I once ordered some antibiotics from another vendor and the antibiotics was leaking inside the envelop from the pill bottles that were inside. Never again.

The bucket leaking, but the first one wasn't that bad but still leaking. This one the whole bottom destroyed. They even put tape on it! It makes no sense why they ship it this way with no protection at all.

I would call and if it continues might need to find new vendor. At some point they will fix the problem or stop sending you salt.

I have refused to shop at Petco for many years, primarily due to my local store, so I'm biased. Can you get the same stuff from Amazon or LFS? My issue with them originally started with them mislabeling corals and then the huge markup of reptiles ( my secondary hobby is ball pythons), and the conditions they keep them in. If possible spend your money elsewhere.

I get instant ocean delivered from them and never a broken bucket. Mail guy to your house must be pretty rough. Or maybe IO has thicker buckets or something.

They would probably send another although two leaking buckets sounds like more salt than you paid for already. I’d probably just dump them both into a bucket that isn’t destroyed so it doesn’t turn into a brick.

I don't get my salt from Petco but I had that same issue with other vendors. I switched to the bags which solved the issue (I have enough spare Blue buckets at this point anyways lol).

Get it sent to the store for pick up. That what I do for IO Reef Crystals.

Petco stores will match petco online prices . Have it sent to store and do pick up there

It is a pain, It has happened to me. Have to take pictures etc.
But... since you get to keep the salt and if it is not contaminated....
So let's say you got 20% off your $100 bucket of salt...
Thats $80 bucks
Arrives broken... sent another...
Your salt cost just went to $40...
That one is broke...
Salt cost $20...
I'm sorry, did you four times?
Salt cost $10...
For 700 gallons worth of salt?
