I’ve got my PH probe for my apex submerged in my sump next to my skimmer.

Is there any issue having it completely underwater or should it just be the bottom tip that’s wet?

I try to keep the tops, where the cord meets the probe, out of the water. You might have issues if air bubbles from the skimmer are getting under the probe end.

They say it does not matter if it’s completely submerged but my personal experience was that the probes died an early death. I would not submerge the wire seal and I have also found that placing the probe in a low flow dark area of the sump gives me the longest spans between cleanings and calibrations.

Just adding to the excellent advice and sample size: yes and yes: ,,, yup, IME totally submerged probes seem to die early and yes, I’d place the probe anywhere snails, algae debris, et are less likely .... I keep mine near the return
