Is it normal for ALKALINITY to drop when a C02 scrubber is installed on the tank?

A CO2 scrubber raises pH, and increased pH increases demand both by organisms to calcify and in nonbiological precipitation of calcium carbonate.

I noticed when I installed the C02 scrubber the PH went up from 7.8 to 8.0 and as high as 8.12. But my ALK really dropped so I'm wondering if the PH caused it

As I mentioned in the other thread, yes, that's expected. :)
