Ph8's 225 build

Thanks Joe,
That means a lot coming from you. Your tank is one of my favorites. I love my Sfiligoi fixture, I bought it used and it was only half working but after a couple ballasts its been really great. Im not sure which pic your talking about, if its the one with the Labouti wrasse its a Purple Stylo. I just made some frags of the fruitloops but Ive never shipped anything before. I would be happy to share with you though. Maybe its time I learn, LOL.

QT took a turn for the worse today. I don't know what this is but it's not responding to hypo. I'm gonna start bringing the salinity back up and try some quinine sulphate. It still looks like ich to me but I'm not sure now. I lost the Potters tonight, hopefully the other two will hang in there till I can get the meds.

Man, sorry to hear that :( BTW, gotta echo the sentiments about how nice your corals are looking!

Thanks Roni, hopefully I can save the other two. I'd be pretty heart broken of I list the Kuiters but you do what you can I guess. Thanks for the complement, it's getting so hard not to add more rock.

Sorry to hear Brett.
It's not easy to find a potters that is in great health. Stress is a killer for these I believe.
IMO they don't do well inQT

Thanks Brad, he was doing really great. The eightline brought in something nasty with it. I swear it still looks like ich to me but whatever it is, hypo isn't having any effect on it. Maybe I misdiagnosed it and it's velvet. Whatever it is makes me glad I QT cause it's not something I want in my DT. If I learned anything from this it's to slow down and take things one fish at a time. It kills me that I didn't catch this before I put the Kuiters in there. Hopefully I can save her.

Brett, hopefully you'll get the QT situation figured out. good luck man.

Thanks man, I may need a little help from the fish gods on this one. All I can do is hope the fish hang on until I can get the salinity up high enough to use meds. That's the down side of hypo, if you don't get it right it leaves you no where to go.

I'm just happy you QT man! you never know what you'll come across. really makes me wonder why I haven't QT'd anything until now.

I'm really freaked out about adding any fish in my clownfish/anemone tank. I would like to add some awesome wrasses but I might have to wait on that.

Brett,

Sorry to hear about the Potter's. I know how much you like that fish so it stinks to lose it. At least the Kuiters is doing okay. If the hypo isn't helping, I'm guessing it's velvet. I had a bout with it last year and it's no joke. Lost 11 fish. Thank goodness you did QT (as Marvin stated above). I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Kuiters.

Thanks Craig, so far the Kuiters is showing no signs of issues so maybe I still have time. I've lost half my fish in the past too, ill never not QT again. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Salinity is up to about 1.015 and the kuiteri still looks good today and is eating well. Im gonna bump it up a little more today and Ill start meds about 1.016-1.017. Ive been debating all day whether Ill use cupermine or quinine sulphate. I think Im gonna go with the quinine sulphate this time and hope for the best. My QT is a 20L so the dosage is 1/2 teaspoon daily following a 5 gallon water change. Im gonna slowly bring the salinity up during these water changes. After 10 days of treatment Ill let her hang for another week or so and hopefully she'll be through this. WISH ME LUCK!!!

Sorry to hear about the Potter's Brett...they are tough to keep. Do you feed the fish while treating with quinine sulfate ? or do they lose their appetite ?

Good-Luck Dude. You definitely have the "Patience of Job"!

Thanks Joe, I don't have any choice but to be patient at this point.

Thanks jim, I have no idea what to expect with this med, this will be my first time with it. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I am curious as to how much quinine sulphate you had to buy. The site lists in grams, how do you convert that into teaspoons?
