Ph8's 225 build

Marvin, scroll up a few posts for a pic. I got him yesterday

Haha, thanks Marvin. Yeah he's pretty tiny. Im really not sure what point I should feel comfortable adding him to my display. Im pretty sure the flow in my display is a bit much for him at this point and my female is quite a bit larger than him. I have no issue with keeping him in one of my QT's for as long as I need to but would love to hear everyone's thoughts about when I should feel safe introducing him to my female.

when he's probably 1.25-1.5" big. so maybe in 3-4 months. I would put him in an acclimation box for a few days just so the female gets used to him. good luck man. :)

Brett, I'd try a critter cage and him now (I'm probably wrong, but always have been told, the longer a clown is solo, the quicker the turn to a female << probably going to be wrong, lol). Using a critter cage will allow her to see him, but not attack. Plus, the critter cage will assist with the flow atm. My 2 live in front of a 3200 gph head in my mag nem and my female is only 2 inches, male is one and half. Just a thought.

You both make good points but I really don't think he would handle the flow as of right now. He has 8 weeks of QT regardless, so I guess we'll see how he looks by then and go from there. Any other thoughts/experience re certainly welcomed at this point.

Ewwweeee a Big Box :haha:

The cardinals were a trio but one was DOA and another croaked while acclimating. So Ill add the one to the three I have now and in ten more orders Ill have a shoal. :noidea:

Mr. Earlei is back! 1smile1

sorry for the Cardinals man. you don't seem to have good luck with them so far. :(

I thought if I got them from DD I might have better luck.

Please excuse the dirty glass in the QT, I don't clean the QT tanks near as well as the display.

That's one beauty of a wrasse!

I really like your blacker ice clown too, very cool puzzle looking pattern.

too bad about the cardinals, just wondering did they ship them all in one bag or separate bags?

Awesome tank!

Thanks Pkunk, they shipped the cardinals in seperate bags, the first order came in 9 different bags. I guess they feel if one dies it wont pollute the water and take the rest out, though they would probably be less stressed as a group.

Here's the landscaping crew, they get together for a meeting once in a while.

They really are funny how they interact with each other. The sand in that area gets blown around constantly by power heads, I'm always raking back in place.

I miss having white sand. The clean up crew are taking a break and chatting how their enjoying keeping your sand nice and white. :)
