Phosphate high - dosing Phosphat E

I've read a ton of posts, I'm just trying to be careful and make sure I'm thinking this out correctly! Hopefully can give me a thumbs up or down...or a correct suggestion.

I've figured my tank actual water volume to be around 175 gallons including sump.
My current Phosphate is .23 ppm
I want to start by dropping to .1 ppm.

According to http://larryl.emailplus.org.user.fm/fish/dosing-instructions-phosphate-removers.html I need 5.7ml to do this.

I was planning on putting on 2ml on day 1, 2ml on day 3 and 2 ml on day 5.

Does that sound like a good plan, suggestions? Truly appreciate the input!

That's not high phosphate. How does your coral and tank look?

Tank has some algae here and there - Couple Acans look a bit bad, one really bad with flesh coming off. Rest of coral seems OK.
I thought over .1 was considered bad, but I'm just trying to figure it all out.

Tank has some algae here and there - Couple Acans look a bit bad, one really bad with flesh coming off. Rest of coral seems OK.

My phosphate sits .2 to .4 and tank thrives. Lots of reefers have success in this range. The key is the nitrates to phosphate ratio. You want 100 : 1 nitrates to phosphate so 20 nitrates for .2 phosphate. If you still want to lower it first look at your input. Do you feed pellets or use supplements like reef roids? These spike phosphate. If I want to lower phosphates I have used phosguard effectively and phosphate RX works well too.

Great info! I currently add 1/2 cube frozen misys 2x per day. I only have 3 fish - but just also added a bunch of CUC. I'm going to hold off dosing anything until I figure out all my parameters and come up with a real plan. Thank you.

Sounds like a good idea. .2 phosphate won't harm your acans so perhaps something else is off like par level for them. Mine sit on the bottom but not flat on the sand in about 100 par and low flow.

My current phosphate is at 1.25… id love .23…
On the bright side it was 1.5 earlier this week!
Still trying to figure out the cause.

Run a GFO, you will lower PO4 in a better way with a GFO reactor. It’s what I did. From .84 I’m now sitting at .05 without doing anything to the tank. It’s been at .08-.05 for three weeks with no GFO running any longer.
