Hi folks,

Would any of you be interested in getting some Phyto for pretty cheap? I've started culturing my own since it was pretty expensive to keep buying it from Algae Barn. I'm thinking I might scale up production a bit (not too much) if there's interest for it locally, or we could work on a frag swap or something.

Let me know.

I've got a really basic setup. I can harvest about 1 gallon every week or so. I don't go through that much, so if anyone wants some I could part with it.

Is it cost effective ? I don’t know much about phyto. How does it compare to the 4 species blend from AlgaeBarn or whatever. Is it just one species of phyto?

I believe it is just one Nannochloropsis, but I've not noticed a difference. It costs 24 bucks for the kit from Mercer of Montana. I've already saved more by buying from them and cultivating my own than buying the Algaebarn stuff. It is a bit annoying to have to have it constantly be taking up space, but I have it to spare.
