Unfortunately we had a power outage and my lights and air stopped on my phyto culture and it seems the phyto all died…

I’ve ordered more live phyto to restart the culture. My question is should i use the water with the dead phyto in it or use newly mixed saltwater?

Are you trying to save some water and/or save some salt?

Nah just wondering if the dead organics would facilitate growth- more “fertile” water so to speak. (I am still using F2 fert)

You should not mess around with phyto culture - and follow rulebook:
- salinity as prescribed for a given culture (typically 1.02 SSG)
- no biological contaminants and no other additives (e.g. dead culture)
- amount of F2 as prescribed (you can dose a bit more F2 for seasoned culture - but much later)

Any other things you do differently are likely to lead to culture crushing prematurely..

I don't culture phyto any more, but my last round of culturing (I stopped about a year ago) kept a single batch of Tetraselmis culture alive for 18 months.
