Hi, I’ll come over the past couple of months. I’ve started trying my hand phytoplankton Culturing. attempted nano, received culture from one of the local guys many of you had recommended. My culture crashed on my first attempt, I believed it due to how I processed the salt water. Second attempt it did much better. I attempted a third time, but developed a lot of algae on the sides of the glass. Culture never really took off just dwindle down in color over a couple of weeks. I made a mistake between my second and third culture where I left the F2 bottle open to air, concerned that possibly that became contaminated as well. I’d like to try again, but wondering if you think I would need to replace my F2 or can I somehow sterilize this?

Might be six set up as the glass quart jar with rigid airline tubing I was sterilizing with rubbing alcohol

If you get too much algae growing on side of container, I suspect you are giving it too much light. I don’t really think f2 can be contaminated that easily as it’s highly concentrated i doubt theres gonna be too many organisms that can survive therr

Have you watched any videos on youtube? There are lots of them that demonstrate how to do it.

It doesn't need strong light, the salinity should be lower around 1.020...... without knowing the steps you took its hard to suggest where you went wrong.
