Phytoplankton feeding Help

Bought my first clam 1 week ago. I have been feeding 1 Teaspoon of phyto per day. I have a Reefer 250 setup. Is this to much? This week my frog spawn and metallic hammer have been going down hill since. Thanks for the help

Have you noticed an increase in Nitrates and Phosphates? You may be able to break that 1 Teaspoon up into multiple smaller feedings thought the course of 2 or 3 days instead of 1 per day.

Honestly you shouldn't need to feed the clam. I'd stop feeding phyto or cut back drastically. Sufficient lighting and indirect flow should keep your clam happy. I'd try getting the clam to face upwards. It's a maxima which is a rock borer and requires high light. I'd try to get it to attach to flat or curved piece of rock so you can move the clam higher if needed.

Thank you! With the reading I have done you have confirmed it all. Today I will relocate clam on a rock and also No feeding daily. Maybe once a Month or so. Thanks again.
