I have a frag of really nice Zoas, my favorites! And after going on Vacation for a week, I came back to the entire frag covered in Pineapple sponges. Ok, not COVERED, but there are about 15 little sponges that I can see.

Anyways, most of the heads have closed up...looks like they are irritated with it. Will taking out the frag and. dipping it in coral dip kill the spongues? What should I do?

Remove as much as possible, feed less they should go away on own if they don’t receive food.

What’s crazy is they showed up all over the Zoas while I was away on vacation for a week. No feedings. I figured that would crush them. ‍♂️

Those sponges feed on silicates if I recall correctly? And they’re actually good filter feeders too, I blow them off then siphon them all up manual removal worked well for me in controlling them !
