Pink goni STN

Have a pink goni showing signs of stn. Should I frag off the dead areas or leave it? Will it eventually die anyway?

I would try to frag the coral and see if remaining part servive. Also got to fiND out what caused it to begin with otherwise other frag part will end up same way.
