So was just watching my mandarins spawning hoping for them to release eggs and sperm when all of a sudden my pipe fish came up to the surface and gave live birth to over 20 baby’s I managed to get a few into pots but have no idea what to do I’ve put them in pots floating in the sump any advice will be greatly appreciated!!! They are blue stripe pipefish, what will they eat?, do i need to put them in separate tank

Check breeding forum. Special food, tank and conditions will be required

Might take rotifers and, yes, if you want to rear them I would think that you'll need a species only tank.

Congrats! I would try live baby brine shrimp or copepods.

They may do best in a kreisel, for best results feed Parvocalanus crassioristis. You could also try mixing in any of these Rotifers, Acartia tonsa, Apocyclops pamanemsis.

If you can’t get live food quickly enough I would try some tdo pellets or some other tiny food. Maybe someone near you has some live food cultures? I think the key is to get them eating soon and maintain good water quality. Good luck and congratulations.
