What are suitable osmotic solutions for plasmolysing marine algae without killing the cells? Both answers on sodium chloride solutions and answers on sucrose solutions are welcome. I know it will require higher concentrations than for freshwater algae, but exactly how high? And what incubation times work for plasmolysing the marine algae without killing them?

You know this is a hobby web site, right? It is a long shot to find such answer here. Looking forwards to the answer though.
