Plastic canvas (mesh) reef safe?

Has anyone used it for like an anemone box or other things I your reef tank?
Is it reef safe?
I'm using some in an egg crate with it around it for a nem box.

I believe many use it in their algae turf scrubbers, like the stuff for cross stitch or something.. should be fine
