I have a plate coral that I have had for about 6 years that has started to decline and I cannot figure out why. Running alk between 7.3 and 7.8 with around 200 par on the sand bed. Phosphate is around .05. Lots of other SPS and LPS look fine. I had this happen a couple of years back with the cycloseris to the left and a section died off when my phosphates were elevated and I had peppermint shrimp that were attacking it, but that coral looks okay now except for the pizza pie piece that died. Any ideas what is going on? I apologize for the heavy blue pic as I could not find my filters this morning and the lights were not all the way up yet.

Are those brains on the rock hitting it with sweepers at night, my favites at night has crazy long ones. Have you been feeding it as well? Also 200 par seems a little high for them, I know most thrive in 50-150 range but there are definitely exceptions.

I was feeding it when the mouth closed, but not since it has been open. It is possible it is getting stung. I considered the par might be too high. I suppose I should try to find a spot for it and move it to see if it gets better.

Yeah I would see if there are sweepers at night in the area where it is, along with finding a lower par location
