I got a beautiful plate coral about a month ago. I was doing really well. Always extended its tentacles and always kind of puffy. It would always accept food and quickly eat. Now it's not puffing up near as much, i can still see tentacles but not as extended, and it won't eat. It will bring the food to it's mouth but it won't eat, the food will just gather there, and there is a small part where i can see the white skeleton. I have it placed on the sandbed, levels are good, having a bout with diatoms though. Any advice?

I would just watch it as it doesn't look dead. I by the way never feed mine directly it gets what ever floats by it that the fish don't get and it catches. Some days tentacles are out and some they are not and even if it dies which I hope it doesn't for you I would leave it in the tank as they will pop out babies from the coral skeleton.

By the way mine looked like your 3rd picture for over a month and now has tentacles out again!

Did a 30% water change and it has already started puffing up.

Also, how often should I feed it? I was feeding it every couple days.
