Plating Rhodactis indosinensis receding

Hi everyone!

I work at an aquarium at a community college and I noticed that our hairy mushroom has been receding for a couple of months now. I'm assuming the cause was from a sweeper tentacle sting but I cannot find any culprits around that specific location where the receding is taking palace. I thought about taking the coral out for a iodine bath but realized that the coral has cemented itself on the rock it is covering. What methods of treatment should I take to halt the receding and keep this piece alive? Thank you!

Here is the parameters taken on 4/30/24:
Sal - 33ppt
Temp - 77.6 F
pH - 8.0
NH4 - 0.25 ppm
NO3 - 0 ppm
NO4 - 2.5 ppm
CaCO3 - 10.2 dKH
Ca - 400 ppm
Mg - 1230 ppm

Although some of these parameters may not be at the recommended level, they have been stable for quite some time (longer from when I noticed the receding starting to happen)

It doesn't have a skeleton; it's kinda weird. I'm just assuming it's a hairy mushroom from pictures and observations.

That area that it’s receded appears to be a skeleton but could just be the rock.

The fact it’s plating makes me think it’s not a mushroom and is an LPS coral.

That's Hydnophora exesa, not Rhodactis. Rhodactis does not have a stony skeleton
