I bought a Juvinile BlueFace Angel and have had it for quite a while. I just wanted opinions on if indeed it’s a BlueFace Angel, I see no signs of transformation? It’s about 3 inches long. Thank You

Im not great with fish id's but that could be a juvenile Koran angelfish. Juveniles can be hard to identify. When my friend owned a fish store, juvenile angels were one of the most misidentified fish that came in. Juvenile blue face usually has straighter lines all the way to the tail. Again, I could be wrong and your fish is transitioning into adult phase so its changing the pattern a bit. That usually happens around 5 inches. I would just give it time and let it grow. If you bought it locally maybe express your concerns with the store and if it turns out to be a different type of Angelfish they could get you another.

I’m not seeing the sign of a yellow mask which is frequently seen with juvenile Blue Faces, however the lines are fairly straight which is a sign it’s likely to be a related species at least.

Definitely not a Majestic as these transition at a very young age, IME usually this is around the 1-2 inch range where they show at least the yellow patching coming in. It could be a juvenile Six Bar (P. sexstriatus), but I’d say it’s a species in that complex at least, suggesting a 50/50 between sexstriatus and xanthometopon
