Hey yall,
I'm new to the hobby. I just set up a 40B with a 29g sump. On my sump I added a refugium. Today when I was stirring my chaeto I notice a few lil guys roaming around. I couldn't tell if they were copepods or not. I took a few pics. It seems like they have legs. Let me know what yall think. Thank you in advance.

Rotifers and amphipods. Good guys. Probably came in on your cheato. Population will explode in the next couple of months if dosing phyto. In my refugium The entire glass is covered with these guys.

Ok awesome. Good to know. I always hear of copepods so I never thought it could actually be bad. I see you have a mandarin as your avatar. I want one so bad!

Yea, very beautiful fish. Learn how to care for and what to give them. Make sure you have an established pod population. And don't jump in right away.
