Please help identify

I have these white tubular things all over my rocks. They are everywhere. Anyone know what they are, and what I should do about them?

Possibly pineapple sponges. If so, harmless and very common especially in newer tanks

Osculum with pretty distinguishable spicules really makes me think of the more common pineapple sponges.

IMO they look more like sea squirts from the family Ascidiacea than pineapple sponges

Well I can’t believe I’m disagreeing with Lasse, but after doing an Google image check of both tunicates and pineapple sponges I’m leaning to the latter for iD

Im going with sea squirts also. All the pineapple sponges I have in my tank are shaped a little different. Alot fatter in the middle and not as long.

Yea I do agree with that. Paused for a LONG time thinking about that. Would squirts be more tightly grouped or not necessarily in the artificial setting

There is a lot of misidentifying pictures - IMO - if you do a Google search. But I´m not sure I´m right in this identification - one or all - or may not - be young pineapple sponges. If you instead do your search on Sycon sp or sycon ciliatum you may be thinking in another way. Use the phrase "Sycon sp sea water sponge". But I can be wrong - its has happen before

I think it differs - Sycon sp are also mostly grouped

Never the less - I think that we can agree that its animals that indicate a rather good environment and are not bad because they are filtrating animals - hence living waste water plants.
