HI

I am new to reefing and am setting up a Biocube LED 32. I know I want a better light and as I want to keep my original hood I have narrowed it down either Steves LED retro or Nano box.
I'll get the bluefish controller with either one and the moon phase lights.

With only a $60 dollar difference the cost is not a deciding factor.

Which one would you pick and why?

Thanks for your patience and help

Dave

I'd go with Steve's. I've heard good things and the model you're looking at is on sale.

I actually own a Nanobox Large Retro with moonlights and 6 channel Bluefish control in my Biocube 29. For a one man shop, Dave’s service is fantastic. His retrofit is by far, the most simple to install and if you’re uncomfortable with installing it yourself, mail your hood down to him and he’ll install it for you. The color rendering on his custom V3.1 LED arrays is excellent, no disco ball effect as he doesn’t use red or green diodes, he uses warm white (years before Ecotech put them in their G4s) and mint in his arrays. No cheap Crees either, he uses top binned Philips Luxeon, Rebel ES and SemiLED diodes.
