I posted something on this last night showing off my “chalice “ which the seller claimed it to be until a reef2reef reefer noticed the small polyps on the coral and told me they think it’s a monti (which is what I’m starting to believe it is). I can’t take any other pictures sorry but I’m not a photographer but you can clearly see polyps on the piece and hopefully that debunks the fact that this is a chalice. I’ve had a Montipora before and it seems oh so similar so that’s why I believe it to be one. Thank you for all your help. (The night pic when my lights were ramping down has the clearest picture of the polyps even though I know tons of people hate the color blue)

Looks like an encrusting monti not a cap but until it grows new growth it will be hard to tell. Also the green pigment infection looks cool, hopefully it stays as it grows but often they will fade out over time.

I seen the main colony this frag cam off of its grafted I will make sure to show you all the green when it’s grown out, not infected it’s the color of the coral

Do you still believe this is a green pigment infection?

It’s hard to tell if it was grafted or another species stung it to make it develop the green. Only the owner of the original piece could tell you how it developed. Not much difference between the two except for how the color originated and chances of it staying that way are a little different.
