Our daughter has a Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet that she uses for school. However, she is unable to look at her textbook online do to the fact that adobe flashplayer does not work on this tablet. Does anyone have any help they can offer. She really needs to be able to see her textbook online and be able to watch class videos.

By the way...when I tried to download adobe flashplayer from the app store it says:

"NOTE: flash player is no longer being updated for new device configurations. flash player will not be supported on any android version beyond 4.0"

Thanks in advance for your help!!

The best advice would be to call Samsung. Other people have surely had a problem with this as well and they probably have a solution by now.

Adobe probably has help too.

Maybe you can get an older android version of the player that will work?

You are right about the flash not being supported by Android anymore: http://mashable.com/2012/06/29/flash-in-android-4-1/

ou can try backing up your tablet and then factory resetting it. Perhaps this will allow flash to download and install.

You can also try using a different browser that may support flash, such as opera, but I think any program that will be using flash will have problems running on a tablet (as it always has).

Ask the school what to do in a case like this...perhaps their IT person can help if they have one. It may be best giving you daughter a normal laptop tho.

I dont know where you live but many Florida school systems are doing this as well to save on take home book costs. Some are even requiring it in the classroom! It isn't fair to the students and their families that can't afford the tablets.

They should have alternate platforms for the books. Simple PDF files would work for all. Better yet, if this is the way they want things done they should supply the proper tools... ie; the laptop.

Here is another thought... Does your daughter have a Nook Color? My kids use Flash on them for their online books sometimes.

Wasnt Flash a big part of why Android fan boys used to bash apple for not supporting flash?
