My Tank Thread
My Aquarium Showcase
I hate that I have to make this post but I unfortunately need to shut down my 300 gallon and move to a 180 gallon since my new place doesnt have a spot that would fit the 300 without it being super in the way…
Need help deciding which of my friends need to find a new home. Guy has multiple fish in his tank already but the only one Im considering keeping is the true hawiian yellow tang for obvious reasons but I may also sell it for the extra cash to help get the new system up and running.
Current list:
Sailfin, purple, atlantic blue, unicorn, clown, and orange shoulder tangs. Out of the tangs Im thinking of keeping: sailfin (shes my tank boss and I love her), my orange shoulder (he is 3 inches now and a super good tempered fish), atlantic blue (also a juvenile) and my unicorn (also a juvenile still). Hoping to get the 300 back up and running before they outgrow the tank. Is this a good idea with the unicorn and Atlantic blue specifically? Clown and purple tangs are super nasty in my 300 already, no way they would be able to go into the 180.
Predatory fish: dog face puffer, my 4 morays, foxface, and my Indian black trigger. Keeping my eels for obvious reasons and the trigger because she has the best temperment Ive ever seen in a trigger. Rehome the puffer because the guy has corals that Ill be getting and Ive seen first hand him eat them. FF because he keeps trying to sting me when I put my hand in the tank and I really don't want to be stung again…
Angels
Majestic and emperor. Ill keep the majestic, she is only 2 inches and good with corals from what Ive seen. Here is the hard part… the emp. He is about 5 inches and just beautiful. Not growing super fast. I want to keep him same as the juvenile angels with hopes that I get the 300 up and going again. Im aware of the risk with corals with him and Im willing to remove corals if he decides they are food, more his adult size and aggression Im factoring in.
The misc fish are two damsels and my lunar wrasse.
Anyone have any advice or pointers for this idea?? Trying to keep my favorites but ultimately will do whats best for them. Only non negotiable are my morays, they get along great and will be fine with the footprint the 180 has when I set their caves up.
