Please help with new fish jumped when transferring

Brought home new fish today. When taking fish from acclimation bucket to DT he jumped from my hand, I don’t use nets unless absolutely necessary, to deal, then from desk to floor. He is now in isolation box and I believe he is on his very last leg. Upon getting to iso box he was breathing very very heavy. He is no barely breathing leaning and like I said looks dead. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was able to nurse back to swimming a little bit. More or less move a little which along with the pump I put right up on the iso box got lots of yummy oxygen moving over his gills and seems to be tons better now. Thank you regardless

I'm having a tough time seeing the actual fish. Could you provide a few more details? First, what kind of fish and approximate size. What do your instincts say the main problem is-- what it out of water for a prolonged period of time? Might the height of the fall cause a spinal cord type injury? Other hunch?
