PLEASE help with reefkeeper lite ATO

Just bought this thing and I am going nuts. How do I tell If my SL1 port a/b even works? Please if you can help be to the point. I have read and tried what I think is everything.

Did you figure this out? I use sl1 port a to tell me when the skimmer is full and sl1 port b for my ato. I can help of needed.
