Yea, it depends on the intensity, but a lower peak intensity can let you run the lights a bit longer.

A lux meter can help you set them, or look at others similar tanks.

As far as the leather goes and other coral thats dying should i remove them
No they should recover.
If they get too bad yes remove them.

If you have another place to buy rodi water def look into it.

From post #12, you mentioned something about a bad water thread that you had worked on.

Oh , got it.
It's actually been dozens and dozens. There's certain characteristics the tanks will have in common. Lack of corraline or algae , or lack of corraline and odd algaes. Esp on the glass. Like weird fuzzy stuff.

Most tanks a few months old will gat an ugly phase and the greening that comes before purple corraline, but a lot of tanks with water probs either get them very late or not at all.

looks like the ammonia spike really hurt those corals. Run your tank with ro/di water and do water changes just in case there are any contaminants in the water. Running carbon would be helpful too.

What are the blocks in your sump? Marine pure? There's been some input from some stating that they release aluminum into the water. Could be what's causing the problem.

Not too sure what is happening to your leather.I would add activated carbon at this time as it may be releasing toxins. You may also want to increase the flow around the leather.

Its progressively getting worse should i just remove this?
pull it out and if it immediately smells like OMGosh toss it.
if it just smells "funny", it can be saved. def run carbon.

I never recommend folks go spend money. If you have a lsf with rodi, or boxed salt water you could do your tank a service. itll take time to get the leather to recover in a healthy tank.
