Good day.

I just ran 1/2 inch pex from my water change station in my garage, thru my crawl space, to my tank. It's sticking out of the wall and I used an electrical cover plate to make it look like it belongs there. Super happy with the result, can post pics if people care.

My question is: How do I get the 1/2 inch pex to adapt to the 1/4 inch vinyl tube going into the tank? I realize the easier answer to this is to run 1/2 inch tube into the tank, but that poses new problems that I'd rather not address.

(Mainly the brackets I have for ATO/AWC are 1/4 inch)

Any advice? I've looked for adapters, but I don't see a pex adapter that would work. Hoping for some direction!

Thanks!!

Youll need a wirsbo 1/2 by 1/4 reducer coupling.

After thinking about it though what if you attached a brass coupling with a threaded male piece to the pex and then you could put a female adapter onto the vinyl tubbing. Something similar to the picture attatched.

Plumping supply houses have a nonmetal adapters that are push on. In Billings, MT Northwest Pipe and Plumbing Supply has them.

They make them 90 deg . there is also a pex crimp to compression.. Most Plumbing Supply places will have them.. You can also get a 1/2 pex to 1/4 Valve. they also come in Plastic and Brass. I recommend you to use only plastic pex fittings for Aquarium related stuff...

Good Luck
Thanks everyone for the responses. You can also get a 1/2 pex to 1/4 Valve. - Where might I find this?
