Plumbing help

This tank & plumbing is new to me. I’m wanting to take advantage of the reactors/UV sterilizer. Do I want to valve I have circled in pink opened or closed in order to do so? Im assuming closed because when it have it closed, I can hear the pellets in the reactor but not with it open.

Looks like a bypass to bypass the reactors so close means water goes in the reactors and open I think would bypass can anyone else give alittle more info

As I see it, You would open the two circled in red and leave the pink closed. For bypass you would close all the reactor valves and open the the two circled in red and one circled pink

From what I'm seeing, that makes sense. If that's a UV I see down the bottom, I definitely would not run the light if the unit ever runs out of water; or even non-circulating might not be good.
