I think the main thing to watch out for with a manifold plumbed to the return is, the amount of water going thru each reactor. You want the flow to them to be adjustable as well as being able to force water thru them. It is better to have a separate pump for them.

here is my sump while it was being leak tested. the return is a variable speed AC pump by Hydor Seltz. it is vertically plumbed up 9 feet to my DT. what you see is a. 1 1/4" return line with a 1 1/4 x 1" reduced T valved off for future use. the pump is running at 50% with nothing attached to the T. as i need reactors or other flow my plan is to attach to this valve and return the output to the sump. with the union above the sump and the union on the pump i can rotate the valve to any orientation that i desire. . the tank has been set up for 18 months and i have yet to need any other equipment.

This is what I have done in my RS 250. My 850 manifold will be run remotely to the bathroom behind the DT but that is still in the works while I wait for people to help move the tank inside. Each reactor has its own gate valve. I am removing the one on the return pump because it just isn’t needed. I am placing it on the 850 because of the number of reactors. The pump is a vectra.
