Sorry if this is a stupid question but here goes. If I want to work on the plumbing on the drain side do I have to empty the tank if the return pump is off? I’ve worked on the return side without any problem. I have duo overflow with durso plumbing. Thanks

If you turn off the return, no water will enter the display, so no water down the overflows. Might just have to take a gallon or 2 out of the display so splashes don't make their way down the overflow. Once the overflows are empty, and the return is off, you can work away on the drain side.

Just emptying the overflow should suffice
