PlusRite MH bulbs 20k?

I recently bought 3 250 watt MH bulbs from brand plusrite. They are suppose to be 20k but seem allot more like 14k if not less. The store blames my ballasts. I run 3 250 watt Vertex ballasts for a coralife fixture. Never had a problem with other bulbs. Any advice?

Its not the ballast.. I ran the 20k plusrites in the past and I agree with you w/ the 14k look. But for 13.95 a bulb, I didn't bother complaining. But to supplement them, I ran 4x54 T5 actinics in the 460-420nm range. I got them from 1000bulbs.com

I too run 3 250 se. They burn the 20k out pretty fast, bringing them to around a 14k, then a 10k look IMO. I supplement mine with 2 160w vho's in the 454 range. I'm looking into other brands to give me the look I really want. I agree, you can't beat the price on the plusright bulbs.
