Hello all!

I started my reef keeping journey here after 10 years of “monster” fresh water fish keeping. Started with a 10 gallon to see how parameters and testing was like and quickly went up to a 65 gallon RSM c250 AIO aquarium. I have had this tank going for 5 months or so now, everything going well for the most part :)

Well having had no saltwater experience when purchasing the c250 I didn’t really know what I was buying. The AIO has been great to get me started but I don’t like the sump set up and the limitations to only Red Sea parts.

Well, I just moved to a different state for a new and improved job. I have been thinking of setting up a new custom tank for a while and now is the opportunity! I also have a 180 gallon tank I used briefly for freshwater in storage.

And so it begins....

I will keep updating this post with progress, can’t get the actual tank here for a few weeks but getting the sump and stand all set up! Doing a peninsula style to separate my living room and kitchen, small apartment, tank will look huge!

Really excited! Already have most of the equipment picked out, really excited about using LED lighting, but I will be using a T5 hybrid because of the crazy growth I am getting in the c250. Probably just doing lps and softies but will get lights adequate for sps in case I change. Also excited to utilize a refugium.

Thanks for viewing! Stay tuned!

Little update!

Not doing peninsula style anymore for a variety of reasons. Got the tank situation in a place I like more :)

Got all the equipment in the mail! Just plumbing now and getting tank next week. I will show more equipment pics when I continue to set it up, more to follow!

Got the tank in! Using a table cloth to cover the sump! Love the look actually :)
Beginning the slow fill process now!

Did you buy those endcaps or do any mods on the hybrid fixture, to re-route and minimize the wires ?

I never really updated this....

I did not do any modding. I cable tied the wired for the AI LEDS to the t5 so it looks like one wire. I do have two sets of wires coming from both sides, this picture makes it more clear.
